Cochrane bus plan going to public vote

A plan to get buses on the road in Cochrane is going in reverse.

Town Council has rescinded its decision to start running buses in town and to Calgary starting in 2014, electing instead to put it to a public vote.

The Calgary Sun reports the bus program would the cost the town about $850-thousand a year by 2015.

A former councillor predicts only about 100 people would benefit from the bus services.

The plebiscite will likely be held in the spring.
