PETA protesters strip down

PETA protestors stripped on Stephen Avenue Wednesday to deliver a Christmas message.

Wearing nothing but body paint from head to toe, made to look like animals, they’re hoping Calgarians consider buying cruelty-free gifts this year.

Two protesters stood at the corner of 3rd Street and 8th Avenue S.W. waving at passersby.

Protester Emily Lavender turned up dressed as a cow.   She admitted it was cold but it was for a good cause.

“It’s nothing compared to being skinned alive, like animals are for their fur or their skin,” says Lavender.

In a short time, they managed to draw a crowd, including one man who said if people didn’t like what the protesters were doing, they shouldn’t torture animals.
