Gas prices are below a dollar per litre at some stations around the city.
Co-founder of calgarygasprices.com Jason Toews said Thursday while low prices are typically low this time of year due to a drop in demand, it’s not going to last long.
He said the price at the pump should edge up during the Christmas weekend, but that’s just the beginning.
“We’ve never seen crude oil this high in December. That spells bad things next summer. I’m expecting to see record-level gas prices in Calgary next year,” said Toews.
To take advantage of the lowest prices, head to either the Costco on Sarcee Trail in the northwest or the one in the southeast at Heritage Drive and Deerfoot Trail.
Otherwise, you can go to Sunrise Gas at 32nd Street and 26th Avenue N.E., or Can Pro on 8th Avenue and 4th Street S.E.
