It seems actually knowing just how hard you will have work to rid yourself of those extra calories from your favourite snack is much more effective at keeping you from over-indulging.
A study found warning labels that explained how much exercise is needed to burn off the calories in junk food were far more effective than traditional calorie counts.
The study, published in The American Journal of Public Health, found providing physical activity information reduced soft drink sales among teens by half.
For example the label on a can of pop would read one hour run.
Experts say people generally underestimate the number of calories in the foods and beverages they consume, and these exercise labels help them better understand.
The labels may also be more effective when it comes to presenting caloric information to consumers on fast food restaurant menu boards.
