Sunday marks the last day influenza immunization clinics in the city are open.
Rahul got his shot earlier this month and tells 660News he thinks the immunization benefits everyone.
“I think it helps a lot, I really never get sick after I get it done, so I think it’s a good way to go,” he says.
Meanwhile, Jennifer says she never gets a shot because she doesn’t like needles and doesn’t really believe in the immunization.
“I’ve also heard, like once you start getting it you should continue getting it year after year after year. I don’t have kids, I don’t work with the public, I’m not around people a lot that could possibly transmit it, so I’d rather not do it for myself,” she says.
The six dedicated clinics are open until 5:00 PM at the following locations;
1) Avenida Village, NE
2) Beddington Towne Centre, NW
3) Brentwood Village Mall, NW
4) Northgate Mall, NE
5) Richmond Road Diagnostic Treatment Centre, SW
6) South Calgary Health Centre, SE
Alberta Health Services will continue to offer influenza immunization through local community health centres and public health offices until the end of March 2012.
