Man charged in S.E. standoff

Police have charged a man following an hour long standoff in the southeast neighbourhood of Penbrooke.
Shortly after 1:00 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to a home on Penswood Rd. after reports of a domestic dispute.
Duty Insp. Patty McCaullum tells 660News the tactical team had to be called after there were reports the man may have been in possession of a weapon.
“He was formally charged early this morning with charges related to a domestic incident with him and his girlfriend,” she says.
She says the standoff ended peacefully with the man eventually surrendering.
