City promises to restore war plane

The city of Calgary has committed to restore two WWII airplanes.

The sun reports the city will put up $800,000 for the de Havilland Mosquito Fighter-bomber and Hawker Hurricane Fighter.

The plan has faced opposition from some alderman and members of the Calgary Aerospace museum for being overly costly, but volunteer restorers are expected to lower the cost to 1.2 million dollars total.
