Just how did Boxing Day come to be?

It actually started many years ago in Britain where the wealthy would give their servants a box containing a gift for their servants the day after Christmas.

Since then, it has evolved into what we know today, a massive day of sales and shopping with many retailers trying to unload all the extra inventory they ordered for the holidays.

The holiday is also an international one, celebrated in Canada, Britain, New Zealand, parts of Australia and just a handful of states in the U.S.
