Do you lock your car, or are you one of the many who doesn’t bother?

Calgary police say a lot of drivers in this city are making it easy for thieves, not only by leaving their vehicles open but by leaving enticing valuables, like laptops and purses, in plain sight.

Cst. Geoff Wilson tells The Calgary Sun another problem is people leaving garage door openers where thieves can find them.

The top items stolen from cars in Calgary are stereos, CDs, laptops, GPS units and money. North American-made trucks are the most popular with car thieves, led by Ford.
