Highway closures into B.C.

You might feel like heeding the call of “head west, young man,” but you’re advised to pull over and wait out that urge.
The Trans-Canada Highway between Golden, B.C., and Revelstoke is closed for avalanche control and the earliest it will be open is 4pm Wednesday. Even at that, the confidence level for re-opening the major thoroughfare is only moderate.
At the Super 8 Motel along Highway 1 in Golden, manager Marie Hoglund tells 660News her inn is full with at least a half-dozen vehicles sitting, waiting, in her parking lot.
Highway 95, south to Cranbrook, is also in poor condition.
