You might notice a lot of activity in Olympic Plaza throughout the week.
City of Calgary crews along with those from Citytv are getting everything set for Saturday’s New Year’s Eve bash that will broadcast live on Citytv.
Beth Gignic with the City’s arts department tells 660News, it’s a first for Calgary, “This is also the first time we are partnering with anyone to do a nationwide broadcast of any of our major civic celebrations. We are pretty excited to be a city selected by Citytv to be the western Canadian partner for a western Canadian New Years Eve program.”
The party down at Olympic Plaza starts at 9:30 p.m. with music from George Canyon, Allysa Reid and others and it will include some fireworks at midnight.
