Deadly end to 2011 in Edmonton

Police in Edmonton are dealing with two homicides and a suspicious death to close out 2011.
Early Saturday morning in the southern part of the city, a 35-year-old man was found dead after a check on welfare call.
Two men in their 40s are charged with second-degree murder.
The two accused and the victim were all from Newfoundland.
Just after noon on New Year’s Eve, a woman in her 60s died in a house fire and homicide is handling the investigation into the death.
Also at around 3:30 Saturday afternoon, a woman was found dead in a downtown apartment.
A man has been taken in custody and charged with second-degree murder.
