What’s open and closed on New Years

The list of what’s closed on New Year’s Day may be a little longer – given it’s also a Sunday.

If you need something from the grocery store, most are open but they suggest to call before just to make sure.

Banks are closed as are local arenas and city aquatic fitness centres but some leisure centres are offering public skate sessions on Sunday.

Local landfills are also closed.

Meanwhile, if you are looking for something to do with the kids, The Telus World of Science and Calgary Zoo are both open.

Still in the mood for some shopping? Chinook, Crossiron Mills, Deerfoot Mall, Market Mall, South Centre and Sundridge malls are all open.
