Canada claims World Junior Bronze

It wasn’t the medal Team Canada was hoping to play for, but for the 14th year in a row, Canada has finished in the top 3 at the World Junior Hockey Championships beating Finland 4-0.
The Canadians opened the scoring in the first period when Tanner Pearson scored his first of the tournament.
Pearson then set up his Barrie Colts teammate Mark Scheifele in the second period to make it 2-0.
Late in the second frame, Moose Jaw Warrior Quinton Howden, put the game out of reach, then sealed it with his second of the game late in the third to give Canada a 4-0 win.
Another key part of the victory was the play of goalie Mark Visentin who made 27 saves including one on a penalty shot when the game was still in the balance in the second period.
The Bronze is the 6th in Canada’s history at the tournament.
