Canada’s push for bronze expected to pack the ‘Dome’

Hockey analysts are expecting a packed house inside the Saddledome Thursday afternoon as all eyes will be on the bronze medal match-up.
Both Canada and Finland will try to bounce back from disappointment as they face-off for third place.
Sportsnet 960 The Fan’s Dean Molberg says this will be Canada’s game to lose.
“The only thing worse than losing out on gold or silver would be losing out on bronze,” he says. “But they still have a chance to do that today. I think it’s going to be a good game.”
Molberg says Canada won’t have much to worry about after easily beating the Fins in round-robin action and his big interest will be who starts Thursday afternoon.
“I know Scott Wedgewood started the other night and left due to injury,” he says. “And of course it let in a lot of goals and Visentin was kind of the starter on the outset of the government, maybe you go back with him.”
Canadian forward Boone Jenner won’t be in the lineup, after he was tossed from Tuesday’s game for spearing Russian captain Yevgeni Kuznetsov.
“The loss of Jenner would be substantial for most other countries, but not in Canada,” says Calgary Sun Sports Columnist and Jack FM morning show co-host Eric Francis. “We have so much depth, they’ll easily fill his shoes.”
Francis says he’s not concerned or worried about the line-up and says all signs point to a Canadian victory.
He’s expecting Mark Visentin to be an incredible goaltender in net.
“They’re going to go in and leave these fans with a lasting memory, a winning memory and all leave with some medals,” he says.
The puck will drop for the bronze medal game at 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Personal ticket sales for the game on sites like Kijiji and Craigslist range anywhere from 100 to 250 dollars each.
Sportsnet 960 The Fan will broadcast all the action live from the Saddledome, starting with a pre-show at 1:00 p.m.
