Tallying the damage from latest windstorm

Emergency crews across southern Alberta, including in Calgary, are starting to survey the damage left behind following a series of windstorms.
The city’s emergency management operations centre was fired up for several hours, to respond to calls of wind related damage.
Some roads were shutdown; 3rd St. between 6th and 7th Ave. S.W. in the core remains closed because of a damaged sign attached to the BMO building downtown.
Crews will facilitate repairs once it is safe to do so.
The biggest fire was south of Calgary near Nanton, where a downed power line sparked a massive blaze that blacked a 60 kilometre area.
RCMP Sergeant Patrick Webb tells 660News at least three homes were destroyed with several other buildings damaged.
Webb says crews remain on the scene monitoring hot spots, saying at the height of the fire, firefighters from five different communities were involved.
Some firefighters did suffer minor smoke inhalation.
Wildfires also scorched a lot of farm and bush land west of Highway 2 between Cranum and Fort Macleod.
There was also a large fire near Walsh, which is near the Alberta-Saskatchewan border.
