Pedestrian struck in southwest

A woman remains in life threatening condition after being struck by a car as she was crossing the street on Saturday morning.
Duty Inspector Chris Butler tells 660News the woman was in a cross-walk at Bow Trail and 37th Street, when the accident occurred.
“A motor vehicle that was southbound on 37th Street and attempting to navigate a turn onto eastbound Bow Trail, struck the pedestrian, who was taken to hospital and is in life threatening condition,” says Butler.
Police say speed, drugs and alcohol are not factors but do mention that the sun was directly behind the pedestrian on the horizon from the drivers perspective.
