With the first snowfall of the 2012 winter season forecasted for Tuesday, the City of Calgary is prepared for action.
The city says crews will be applying anti-icing agent on trouble spots such as bridge decks and hills to prevent ice build-up on the roads.
Drivers are reminded to leave about three car lengths between your vehicle and the working snow removal equipment.
The city also is asking Calgarians to use the following steps before beginning your commute.
-Tune up and winterize your vehicle.
-Consider installing appropriate tires to the season.
-Clean snow and ice off your vehicle and ensure your lights and your windows are clear.
-Give yourself extra time to reach your destination.
-Reduce your speed and turn on your headlights.
-Drive defensively.
