An attempted arson at a Bank of Nova Scotia has Strathmore RCMP looking for a careless smoker.
Police believe someone intentionally threw two lit cigarettes into the night deposit box sometime late Thursday or early Friday morning.
Strathmore RCMP Sergeant Kevin Reilly says it could have been disastrous if a fire started.
“It’s in the industrial area of Strathmore, just off Highway One and there’s a number of businesses, restaurants and such that all are along there and connected,” he says.
Reilly is asking anyone who might have seen suspicious activity to call RCMP or Crimestoppers.
