Local homeless count happening soon

The Calgary Homeless Foundation is about to find out how effective recent efforts to eliminate homelessness are going.
About 180 volunteers will fan-out across the city for a five-hour period sometime in the next couple weeks to get an accurate count of how many people are living on the streets.
It’s the first time a count like this has been done since 2008 when more than four-thousand homeless people lived in Calgary; a number that grew from just four-hundred in 1992.
Preliminary results from the current count will be released in February, according to The Calgary Herald.
