Soldier charged with child porn

RCMP have charged a Canadian soldier stationed at Cold Lake, Alberta with distributing child pornography and sexual assault of a child.
Lieutenant (navy) Bettina McCulloch-Drakesays the news is troubling and the military is taking the allegations seriously.
Mounties say the accused and alleged victim are from the same family.
Police began an investigation when someone complained to the detachment in Swift Current, Sask., about receiving child porn from a Cold Lake resident.
The man made his first court appearance in Edmonton on Monday and reserved his plea.
The man’s name is not being released. He is also charged with sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching and possession of child pornography.
