Another MLA bows out

Calgary northwest MLA Lindsay Blackett, the former culture minister, has announced on his Facebook page that he won’t be running in the spring election.
Blackett will have served only one term after being elected in the last provincial vote in 2008.
In the statement he wrote, “I have truly enjoyed the work that we have done together “To Make A Difference” in the seven communities of Calgary North West. I made the promise to many constituents, that I would not be a career politician, I would be a strong and effective voice for them and would not let them down.”
He joins Ron Liepert, Iris Evans, Lloyd Snelgrove, Ken Kowalski and several other Tory MLA’s who aren’t running in the coming vote.
