Calgary EMS is urging Calgarians to dig out the clothing most people haven’t needed so far this winter.

Stuart Brideaux with EMS says crews are preparing to deal with a flood of cold weather related calls.

He says parents need to pay extra attention to their children, because their bodies don’t handle the cold as well as an adults.

He adds, as long as people dress in layers for the elements and make sure the pointy parts of their body, the ears, cheeks, nose, hands and toes are covered, they should have no trouble coping with the cold temperatures.
