Murder suicide victims remembered at memorial service

Hundreds of friends, family and fans said their farewells at a memorial service on Saturday in Lethbridge for the victims of a roadside murder-suicide near Claresholm.

Tabitha Stepple, Tanner Craswell and Mitch MacLean — all in their early 20s — were gunned down by Stepple’s jealous ex-boyfriend in mid-December. Derek Jensen then killed himself.

Shayna Conway, the only survivor, was in attendance.

Craswell and MacLean were promising baseball players from Prince Edward Island. The memorial was structured like a baseball game, with special tributes to the victims during each of nine innings and their numbers were retired.
