Busy morning for AMA

The cold weather has increased calls to the Alberta Motor Association.
A Calgary spokesman for the AMA says members are waiting about 75 minutes for roadside assistance Monday morning.
Randy Loyk says, calls into AMA tend to spike as soon as the temps drop below minus 15, with most for battery boosts, and locked out drivers.
“If we can keep getting people to plug in their vehicles, that’s so important. Secondly don’t start your vehicle and walk away from it, you don’t want to lock your keys in your car. We see a lot of that when temperatures get this cold, so stay with the vehicle if you start it,” says Loyk.
City-Wide Towing is reporting a two-hour wait for service Monday morning, but a spokesman for Checker Cab says the only delay for taxi service so far, is because drivers are caught in the same traffic as the rest of us.
