No relief from cold weather for a while

The cold temperatures should stick around Calgary for the rest of the week, according to 660 Meteorologist David Spence.
Spence says light snow, which started on the weekend, will continue to fall through Wednesday.
Then the sun will start beaming on Thursday, but he doesn’t anticipate that to make the mercury rise thanks to the arctic air invading the city.
“Arctic air is heavy and dense and it takes a long time to move out of any location in which it has parked, and it has parked right here,” says Spence.
Meantime, The city has workers bundling-up and hitting the streets to make sure the commute for Calgarians is as safe as possible.
A city spokesperson tells The Calgary Sun overtime hours and on-call workers will be used in order to keep the city’s 100 pieces of snow clearing equipment operating as necessary.
