Orphaned Banff grizzly cubs find den for winter

Two orphaned grizzly cubs are likely sleeping soundly in a den near Lake Louise.
Their mother was one of four bears killed last year by passing trains in Banff National Park.
A park spokesperson tells The Calgary Herald the two cubs were last spotted in early November in good health, and he’s willing to bet they safely made it into hibernation.
He says the train tracks and roadways that traverse the area are still a concern for the cubs when they come out of their deep-sleep in the spring.
