Alberta gets ‘D’ grade on red tape report card

Alberta is getting better at cutting red tape for businesses, but is still close to getting a failing grade from the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.

The province gets a grade of ‘D’ on the CFIB’s latest red tape report card, up from an ‘F’ in 2010.

The report measures provincial government efforts to initiate regulatory reform.

British Columbia got the best grade, ‘A,’ for its commitment over the past decade to track its red tape burden on businesses.

Manitoba, Prince Edward Island and the Northwest Territories received ‘F’s.
