Calgary police and city officials are growing more and more concerned about licensed marijuana grow-ops in our city.
Health Canada hands-out licenses for people to grow the plant for medicinal purposes.
Calgary Green Team Staff Sergeant Tom Hanson tells The Calgary Sun he’s concerned there are no measures to monitor the safety of the legal grow-ops, and no way to know where they are located.
The concerns came to light following a licensed grow-op home in the city’s southwest being shuttered Wednesday after it was deemed unsafe for human occupation due to safety-code issues including wiring, ventilation and mould.
