Canadian farmers are being bogged down by unnecessary government regulations.
The Canadian Federation of Independent Business says the red tape is making Canadians producers less competitive.
“With governments in the midst of finalizing a plan to support the future of agriculture in Canada, taking immediate action to reduce the regulatory burden will allow farmers to continue to provide consumers with high-quality, homegrown food,” said Virginia Labbie, CFIB’s senior policy analyst for Agri-business.
The federation has been drawing attention to red tape all week and is making recommendations to all levels of government to help independent business in Canada.
