See it and do it, this weekend

The warmer weather has arrived just in time for this weekend’s International Ski Federation Snow Cross event at Lake Louise.
Lake Louise spokesperson Danielle Sherman tells 660News, if you’re in to snowboarding, this is a great spectator event.
“It’s head to head,” says Sherman. “There’s people racing beside each other and that’s not something you see in half-pipe or slope-style or any of the other events. It just adds that element of excitement because there’s the dynamic of three other people trying to get down the course before you.”
“We have a course going down a mountain and it kind of winds down,” Sherman continues. “There” (are) “berms which are banked corners. There’s rollers, mini-jumps. So it makes for great spectating and it’s really exciting sport to take part in.”
You can also try out the sport yourself.
“Anywhere from younger kids, all the way up to Masters category,” says Sherman can take part. with registration each day from 8am to 9:30. “So anyone who” (wants) “to find out more about the sport can come out here and register in the race. And they’ll get a little bit of training with that.”
As for the FIS internationally-sanctioned race, featuring some of the best competitors from Western Canada, time trials start at 10am both Saturday and Sunday.
