The Wedding Fair is back at Stampede Grounds

With the return of warmer weather following this past week’s deep freeze comes, for some, thoughts of spring and weddings.
Those thoughts will have no limit, Sunday, at the BMO Centre on the Stampede Grounds with the annual Wedding Fair.
Organizer Kathie James says there’s something for everybody, including the latest decor, fashions and cakes.
James says it’s not just for the ladies anymore, they’ve thought of the men as well.
“We, of course, show all the latest styles in tuxedos,” James tells 660News. “And we actually at our show have an area called ‘Club Groom’ where they can take a little rest and watch some of the football playoffs. They quite enjoy that. But I would say we’re seeing more of the men come out.”
In fact, James anticipates seeing a lot of people in general, noting December is one of the busiest times for engagements.
“Following that everybody is just out there to start planning their wedding,” says James who’s been running The Wedding Fair since 1976. “So the timing of the show is just perfect for the brides, most of them with an eye towards summer weddings.”
This year the fair has a record 279 booths and runs from 9:30am till 5:30pm, Sunday.
