Canadian Freestyle Skier Sarah Burke is about to be honoured by the organization that gave her a platform to show-off her skills.
The Winter X Games will hold a tribute to Burke Thursday night.
The 29-year-old died last Thursday from injuries suffered in a training accident the week before in Utah.
The memorial is planned for early in ESPN’s broadcast from Aspen, Colorado and will include several athletes.
Burke was seen as a pioneer in her sport of superpipe skiing and was a six-time X Games champion.
