Calgary bike-share program on track despite cost concerns

A bike-share program for Calgary continues to roll forward despite some aldermen trying pop its tires.
A preliminary plan proposes 400 bikes be parked at 40 stations that can be rented out, mostly to get people around the downtown core.
However, some aldermen are spinning over the price tag of the program, at $2.1-million, with $400,000 up front to get the wheels turning.
For now, the plan has been sent back to staffers for review with some aldermen proposing they monitor programs already running in Toronto and New York.
