Two people face immigration charges

The Canada Border Services Agency has charged two people in Calgary for remaining in the country illegally.
Tahir Chaudhry, (also known as Tahir Ahmed) and Tahira Aslam (also known as Tahira Ahmed), were arrested last week.
Officials allege the pair entered Canada in November 2008 as visitors and then used false names to apply to stay here.
The Agency’s Rick Cuzzetto tells 660News the charges were laid after an 18-month investigation.
“In many cases like this, they (the investigations) take a long time because we’re dealing with foreign documents. It takes time to verify these documents,” says Cuzzetto.
As well, he says they have to work with a section of the Department of Justice that has to approve the charges.
The accused will be in provincial court on Monday.
