Robison arrested

Less than two days after issuing a Canada-wide arrest warrant for the man wanted in connection with the recent shooting of two Alberta RCMP officers, an arrest has been made.
Sawyer Clarke Robison was taken into custody earlier Friday morning. He was found in a vehicle with two other people.
“We are extremely relieved that this situation has been resolved without any further harm to our members or the community. We can now focus our efforts on the criminal investigation, and supporting Constable Shah and Constable Gaudette in their recoveries, ” said Assistant Commissioner Marianne Ryan, Acting Commanding Officer of K Division RCMP. “We are extremely grateful for the public support we have received over the past few days, and would like to thank the citizens of the Killam area in particular, for their support under these difficult circumstances.”
Thursday, his father made an emotional plea for his son to turn himself in.
The manhunt began on Tuesday afternoon when the officers were shot while executing a search warrant for a gun on a farm near Killam.
RCMP Sergeant Patrick Webb says because of the seriousness of the charges officers didn’t take any chances where they moved in on Robison in a rural area southeast of Edmonton.
The 27-year-old was taken into custody without incident or injury.
