Smoke will clear soon following Tsuu T’ina fire

Tsuu T’ina officials say relief is on the way for Calgarians weary of the smoky haze over parts of the city.

They tell The Calgary Herald they’re close to controlling the landfill fire that prompted a precautionary air quality advisory this week.

The smoke has kept people in their homes and students from going outside in the deep southwest.

The fire is believed to have started early Wednesday when some materials spontaneously ignited in a landfill on the first nation a smoky haze has lingered since.
