Former Calgary Police Commission chairman Mike Shaikh is one of three senator-in-waiting candidates selected by the Redford Tories.
Shaikh is a former member of the Canadian Association of Police Boards and the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team.
His resume also boasts a seat on the University of Calgary Board of Governors and on the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation Board.
The Calgary Sun reports he was selected Saturday night along with Doug Black and Scott Tannas.
Senators-in-waiting from Alberta will be elected in a province-wide spring vote.
