A RCMP officer stabbed at the ASIRT offices in downtown Calgary nearly two-years ago says he could hear the knife going into his skull.
That disturbing testimony came Wednesday from Sgt. Andy Johnson.
He recalled speaking with Lee Christopher Monrose, the man accused of attacking him, about the investigation into a police-involved shooting in which Monrose was struck.
Johnson says Monrose accused him of tampering with evidence, and grew angry.
That’s when the veteran cop tried to end the meeting, but Monrose pulled a knife and stabbed him repeatedly in the back of the head.
Monrose’s defence lawyer says his client was legally insane at the time of the attack.
