A highly-anticipated report is due out Wednesday looking into allegations of physician intimidation and substandard care for patients in Alberta when The Health Quality Council of Alberta releases its findings into the matters.
The 20 person team has been interviewing physicians and administrators over the past 12 months to get to the bottom of long emergency room wait times and alleged cancer surgery wait-list deaths.
The Calgary Herald reports it will also follow-up on its October mid-term report showing some doctors were “black-balled” for speaking out for patient rights.
Premier Alison Redford may call a more extensive public inquiry into the claims following the release of the final report.
