Missing man may have met with foul play

Calgary police are optimistic they can find a missing Calgary man but say they are being realistic as well.
24-year-old Ryan Lane has been missing since the early morning of Tuesday, February 7. He was in the 5200 block of Country Hills Boulevard N.W.
Investigators say he may have met with foul play and are trying to put together a timeline for two vehicles seen in the area at that time. The vehicles are a red, 1996 Jeep Cherokee and a red, 1998 GMC Sierra truck that was carrying a load of wood.
Police have spoken with who they believe was the driver at the time of the Jeep, who is being somewhat cooperative with investigators.
CPS is asking anyone in Calgary as well as rural communities including Airdrie and Cochrane to look over their property for anything suspicious like clothing or tire marks.
Kevin Brookwell, CPS spokesperson, says Lane was in the middle of a custody battle for his young daughter. He had met up with her shortly before he went missing.
After that meeting, he received a phone call from someone who said they could help him with his custody issue. He did leave his home after that and hasn’t been seen since.
Brookwell says they don’t know if Lane was abducted but the 24-year-old has missed some important appointments and his family is quite concerned and upset, saying this lack of contact is not like him.
