EMS respond to wait times criticism

The Liberals are calling for a review of emergency medical services wait times.
Health critic Dr. David Swann says he has had EMS personnel tell him of wait time ranging from 10 minutes to 6 hours.
One worker in Edmonton says most are scared to come forward with their stories, “All our members are fearing for their jobs, it has created this fear and they can’t come forward with it.”
He adds, “This has not been a solution by just throwing a couple of ambulances on the road. Historically we have been under ‘resourced’ in Edmonton over the past five to ten years. Today, we fit so grossly under resource that we just cannot make up for it.”
He says it has been so bad over the last couple of years, that 100 personnel including senior members, have walked away from their jobs because of the stress.
