Energy analysts are predicting record high prices that could see the price at the pumps reach $1.50 per litre by summer time.
The Calgary Sun reports, the price of gas has risen the past few weeks to about $1.12 a litre, something Peter Linder of Emerging Equities will soon seem like a deal.
He says Calgarians should brace themselves for gas prices to reach $1.30 a litre by early spring.
Even Co-founder of Gasbuddy.com Jason Toews says Calgarians will see a jump, crediting the uneasy situation in the middle east as a key reason why.
Toews, who’s spent 12 years monitoring gas prices, says even without an attack on Iran, tension will keep prices up and a war could drive them to the $150-$200 stratosphere.
However, it could be a lot worse!
Higher oil prices are very good news for Albertans as Eastern Canadian imports get oil about 30% more costly then the crude refined for city drivers.
