Snowfall warning still in effect for Calgary

A big blast of winter continues to roll into southern Alberta.
Spring might be only a couple of weeks away, but March also happens to be the snowiest month of the year.
Calgarians are being told to expect up to as much as 15 centimetres of snow on the ground by Tuesday morning.
A snow route parking ban has not been declared yet and the city says it will be dictated by the amount of snowfall by Tuesday morning.
City Transit also tweeted bus service was seeing delays of about 5-10 minutes for most of Monday evening because of the snow.
The storm has also led to the cancellation of school bus service in the Chinook’s Edge School Division north of Calgary.
The division covers a broad area in Central Alberta, stretching from Carstairs in the south to Red Deer to the north.
On the highways, heavy snow and reduced visibility have made driving very treacherous.
In the mountain parks, Highway 93 south is closed from Castle Junction at the Trans Canada Highway to Radium as well as north from Lake Louise to Jasper.
Both are expected to re-open Tuesday morning.
North of Calgary the snow has come down hard near Olds and Innisfail and there have been several crashes reported there, prompting RCMP to warn against any unnecessary travel.
Police say the QEII in both directions from Highway 53 to Calgary is extremely dangerous with little or no visibility.
660 Meteorologist David Spence says with warmer conditions moving into the area later in the week, the snow won’t hang around long, but it will make things white, wet and a little miserable while it’s here.
