Canadians will be able to get their hands on the latest version of the iPad on March 16th.
The new iPad has a sharper screen with Apple’s retina display technology, increased processing power and an upgraded camera.
“The new iPad has a five megapixel camera on the back of the iPad,” says Breakfast TV Gadget Guy Mike Yawney.
“It’s bringing a few new features like autofocus, face detection and auto white balance.”
It can also access LTE mobile networks, and Apple highlighted Rogers as service providers that will offer the high-speed service for the new iPad.
It’s officially being called “the new iPad” not the iPad 3 or iPad HD.
“No one knows exactly why they are doing that, especially when they are keeping the iPad 2,” says Yawney. “There might be some confusion when people go to the stores to pick up an iPad and they see there’s an iPad and an iPad 2.”
Prices aren’t changing from the previous models. They will start at $519 in Canada for a WiFi model, while versions capable of accessing cellular networks will cost $649 to $849.
