A man is in critical condition in Foothills Hospital following surgery after he was shot downtown on an LRT platform.
The shooting happened just before 10:30pm Friday night near the Distillery Pub in the 600 Block of 7th Avenue southwest.
The 6th Street West LRT platform was cordoned off overnight which suspended train service for the initial investigation, but Duty Inspector Darren Leggatt tells 660News the the C Train is no longer being detoured.
“We are actually running the trains but there is part of the platform that’s still cordoned off,” said Leggatt.
“It’s not going to interfere with any of the scheduled service but there’s a portion of the platform that’ll be closed until further notice.”
According to the Calgary Herald between eight and 10 potential witnesses are being held as police search for a suspect or suspects.
Surveillance video may help also police with their investigation.
