Pierre Poutine search includes Edmonton company

An Edmonton-based IT company is helping the government close in on the mysterious Pierre Poutine, the name behind the robocall scandal.

Matt Maier, the owner of Rack Nine, believes he’s tracked down the person responsible to a Rogers Hi-speed internet protocol address in Guelph, Ontario.

The National Post reports he passed on the information to Elections Canada, who can now seek a legal order to have Rogers hand over information about the IP address in question.

Reports had linked Maier’s company to the robocalls which directed voters to incorrect balloting locations during the last federal election, though Elections Canada has said Rack Nine was never suspected in the case.
