Albertans can expect power rates to level off for the next few months.
The Alberta Utilities Commission will freeze hikes on administration, distribution and transmission fees regularly applied to power bills.
The commission is doing so at the request of the government while a panel reviews power rates in the province.
However, The Calgary Sun reports the rate freeze will not extend to the cost of electricity or fees applied by municipalities.
The rate freeze will stay in effect until at least after the election.
