It took a few weeks, but Tory MLA’s say they will pay back money for being members of a committee that hasn’t met in years.
But, they are only giving back money earned since Alison Redford became premier back in October.
Liberal Leader Raj Sherman says it’s a slap in the face to all Albertans.
He paid back more than $43,000 earned on the committee and the Wildrose party members have also paid back every cent.
Robin Campbell, PC party whip, says they have been discussing the matter for awhile and made the decision as a whole.
He estimates around $80,000 will be given back and adds they are only going back to the past six months, because that’s when Redford made the commitment to look into MLA pay.
