RCMP have laid charges against an Innisfail man after the abduction and assault of a woman at CrossIron Mills mall.
It was Wednesday afternoon when a Good Samaritan at the mall went to security after a woman passed on a note saying she had been abducted and needed help.
Once police arrived, the suspect in the case started hitting the woman and even injured the RCMP officers’ as they tried to arrest him.
Mounties say the victim had just ended a relationship with the man and they are commending her for seeking help in getting out of an abusive relationship.
The man faces a total of 15 charges and will be in Airdrie court on Monday.
